Doctor Heather Tremblay-Croteau, PT, DPT, CSCS

Heather earned her Bachelor’s in Creative Arts in Therapy with a concentration in Music from Russell Sage College in 2008 before continuing her education at Sage Graduate School, where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011. In 2012, she became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Committed to expanding her expertise, Heather earned her certification in pelvic floor evaluation and treatment through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute in 2021. She is also a certified Babywearing Educator, helping parents understand the physical and developmental benefits of babywearing.

Heather has a special interest in the connection between the low back, hips, pelvis, and pelvic floor. While orthopedic, sports, and pelvic health physical therapy are often treated as separate specialties, she enjoys helping clients navigate the overlap between these areas. She frequently works with active adults, athletes, pregnant and postpartum individuals, and those struggling with persistent hip, low back, or pelvic pain. Heather has particular expertise in hip impingement and the relationship between hip function, core stability, and pelvic floor health.

In addition to her orthopedic and pelvic health training, Heather specializes in jaw and TMJ therapy, including intraoral techniques. Through collaboration with local dentists, orthodontists, and myofunctional therapists, she integrates these approaches to help clients reduce pain, improve function, and restore balance throughout the jaw, neck, and facial muscles.

Heather believes in treating the whole person rather than focusing on a single diagnosis or body part. Her goal is to help clients better understand their bodies, identify the root cause of their symptoms, and confidently return to the activities that matter most to them.

Professional Interests

Heather’s path to physical therapy was shaped by her own medical experiences and a desire to help others regain their health, confidence, and independence. Her love of movement began through weightlifting and boxing, pursuits she has enjoyed for nearly two decades. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with athletes ranging from high school and collegiate competitors to Ironman participants and recreational fitness enthusiasts.

After the birth of her son in 2016, Heather experienced firsthand the challenges many individuals face when navigating recovery after pregnancy and childbirth. She became increasingly aware of the gap between traditional rehabilitation and the needs of those hoping to return to higher-level exercise, sports, and active lifestyles. This experience sparked a passion for helping pregnant and postpartum individuals rebuild strength, restore function, and confidently return to the activities they love.

As both a clinician and a mother, Heather understands that health is about more than the absence of pain. Her approach combines her background in orthopedics, sports performance, pelvic health, and strength training to help patients move better, feel stronger, and achieve their individual goals.

Personal Life

Outside the clinic, Heather is a wife to her husband, Paul, mother to Colton and Ainsley, and proud owner of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Maela. She and her family enjoy hiking, camping, traveling, and spending quality time together outdoors.

A passionate homesteader, Heather raises ducks and chickens, maintains extensive flower and vegetable gardens, and enjoys creating fresh and dried floral arrangements. She is deeply committed to sustainability and is always looking for creative ways to reduce waste and make use of what she has on hand, whether in the garden, kitchen, or around the home.

Heather’s love of movement, nature, and lifelong learning extends beyond her professional life and continues to shape the way she approaches health, wellness, and community.
